I recently took a little day trip to Saguaro Lake.  You’ll find a quick video I took below (forgot to add music, so you get wind-on-mic sound). Saguaro Lake is only a 30 min drive from my house in Gilbert.  The lake is about 40 miles East of central Phoenix. I can’t believe I’ve never checked this place before!  This is the spot in the East Valley for boating, tubing, kayaking or just relaxing near the water.  Saguaro Lake is surrounded by the prettiest desert landscape.  There are tons of hiking trails, ATV trails, and places to BBQ and swim at Butcher Jones recreation area. 

Next time I go I want to take the 90 min boat cruise on the lake to see the stunning canyons and wildlife.  The lady at the ticket booth suggested making reservations ahead of time - both the 12:30 and 2:30 and 4:30 cruises were sold out the day I visited.  She also mentioned that you can bring your own wine and cheese and make a romantic sunset cruise of it! (no glass).
